Guiding Principles
- Peace educators teach with a world-view including lessons
that provide multiple perspectives from multiple resources.
- Through service learning projects and exemplifying a
shared vision of peace, peace educators purposefully and
explicitly teach and model social skills, conflict resolution,
common values to “walk the talk”
- Peace education is interconnected and integrated in all
the curriculum areas that we teach.
- Peace educators connect teaching to the child’s
world to make it meaningful and fun allowing students themselves
to generate ideas as often as possible.
- Peace educators use a variety of instructional strategies.
- Peace educators intentionally build strong learning communities
with healthy communication.
- Peace educators teach, model and live peace with students
and other adults and believe that what they do will make
a difference.
