Peace Ed Onsite Workshops are an opportunity for you to get together with other peace educators to create connections, share ideas and learn some new ones. Workshops are structured with discussions, sharing, group work, speakers and planning time.

Anyone who is interested in more peaceful education is encouraged to attend, and don't be afraid to bring a friend or colleague with you! For schools, it generally works best for two educators from each site to attend together. This ensures that you have someone in your teaching environment to continue the learning in between and beyond the workshops.

Dates for 2014-2015 will be October 28 and January 27 & 28.

Erin Walsh will be our featured speaker on Tuesday, October 28th. Erin is the daughter of Dr. David and Monica Walsh, with whom she runs Mind Positive Parenting, an organization that equips parents and communities to raise children and youth who can thrive, meeting the challenges of the 21st Century. Erin's father is one of the world’s leading authorities on children, teens, parenting, family life, and the impact of technology on children’s health and development. In 1995, Dr. David Walsh founded the internationally renowned National Institute on Media and the Family.

Erin is a renowned speaker in her own right and will dig into the subjects of:
  • Translating brain science into helpful strategies for raising resilient children and youth
  • Developing digital literacies and citizenship
  • Preparing children and youth for global competition and cooperation
  • Equipping children for school success
  • Fostering social competence and caring
